Abi Mills, LMFT Associate, Supervised by Christina Birgen
Focus Areas: Relationship issues, attachment, ministry families, special needs families, faith issues, stress, life transitions, faith-integrated counseling
Clients: Couples, families, women 18+, adolescents 12+
My approach to therapy is rooted in attachment theory, which helps us understand how our relationships and experiences shape the way we connect with others, respond to conflict, and understand ourselves. I often use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), especially when working with couples, to help clients recognize the patterns they get stuck in, communicate what is really happening underneath the conflict, and build relationships that feel safer and more secure.

Abby Thielen, LPC Associate, Supervised by Christina Birgen
Focus Areas: Perinatal mental-health issues, OCD, reproductive grief & loss, faith-integrated counseling, pre-marital counseling
Clients: Engaged couples, adults 18+
I believe every client and every season of life is unique. My approach is flexible, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that clients should feel seen, heard, and actively involved in their own therapy. I strive to create a space that is warm, compassionate, and approachable, where difficult topics can be explored honestly while therapy still feels engaging, meaningful, and human.
Kristi Mueller, LPC Associate, Supervised by Christina Birgen
Focus Areas: Relationship issues, first responders, grief, faith issues, stress, life transitions, faith-integrated counseling
Clients: Couples, families, adutls 8+, adolescents 12+
My approach is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which holds that so much of our pain — whether in how we relate to ourselves or to the people we love — comes back to our deepest need for connection and security. I also bring in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care where they’re helpful, but more than any single method, I believe in therapy as a true partnership.

Focus Areas: pre-marital counseling, adolescents, women of all ages, spiritual/faith issues, missionaries
Clients: Engaged couples, adults, adolescents (12+)
My approach is grounded in my relationship with Jesus and my faith in Scripture, which shapes the way I see and care for others. I believe that seeing and loving people in the way that our Father does is integral to a healthy and effective therapeutic relationship. In that, my approach is warm, relational, and rooted in a desire to help clients feel understood.
Christy Birgen, M.A., LPC-S, LMFT-S; Founder/Clinical Director
Focus Areas: Marriage & relationship issues, communication & conflict repair, emotional connection, life transitions, grief, attachment-based counseling, faith-integrated counseling
Clients: Couples, families, adults 18+
My approach to therapy is grounded in the emotional human experience, with a Christian framework. My style combines the science of attachment theory, the power of emotion as a change agent, and integration of psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. I view counseling as a safe place of acceptance and compassion where client and therapist work together to bring the client back to their personal place of hope and well-being.
Kristen McMillan, Client Care Coordinator
I strive to provide clear information and answer any questions that people may have as they begin their journey in therapy. I hope to be open and compassionate while helping clients in a responsive, productive manner.
Hannah Chambers, Student Counselor Intern, Supervised by Christina Birgen
I take a client-centered and faith-based approach with my clients, while implementing aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and learning to integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I truly believe that, as Proverbs 23:7 reminds us. What a person thinks within themselves influences who they become, creating a ripple effect into each relationship.
