• About Abi Bryant, Graduate Student Counselor

I’m Abi, a pastor’s kid and special needs sibling who has dreamed of helping people since I was a young girl. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in psychology, I knew that God had called me to pursue a career in therapy.

I am currently a master’s level student in Abilene Christian University’s Family and Marriage Therapy Program and am completing my internship under the supervision of Christy Birgen. I aim to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work to help people find hope and healing.

My approach to therapy pulls from systemic and person-centered approaches to therapy, with a Christian background. I believe that each person was created in a unique and individual way by God, and our experiences through family, community, and relationships shapes who we are. I view therapy as a safe and comfortable environment in which the client and therapist work towards peace and hope.

I have a passion for families in ministry, special needs families, and relationships.

Abi has completed her internship with us. She is currently finishing her requirements for graduation and will then take her licensing exam. We anticipate her returning to our practice about mid-September.

    Three Facts About Me

    Healing is Possible

Although many people wish healing could happen instantly, healing is a process that takes time.

Baking is my favorite form of self care.

I love to bake cookies, pastries, and anything I can try. Plus, the best part is eating after they are done baking!

It’s okay to not be okay!

Growing up in ministry, I saw many people hiding their emotions in order to be “perfect”. Emotions are real, and I would love to help you during your journey with them.
