• About Hannah Chambers, Student Counselor Intern

    Supervised by Christina Birgen

Hi, I’m Hannah—a wife, mother, and Kids Ministry Assistant. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Allied Health from Texas A&M University and completed my master’s degree in Lifestyle Health Sciences and Coaching at the University of North Texas. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, where I am learning to ethically integrate counseling and faith while honoring each client’s individual beliefs and needs. I receive ongoing supervision in caring for my clients under the direction of Christy Birgen, M.A., LPC-S, LMFT-S.

I am drawn to working with clients who may be struggling with their identity, body image, anxiety, and depression. I also have a passion for working with couples who are seeking to restore and/or cultivate their marriage. I take a client-centered and faith-based approach with my clients, while implementing aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and learning to integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I truly believe that, as Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, what a person thinks within themselves influences who they become, creating a ripple effect into each relationship.

In my previous experience as a Health Coach, I learned that healing is holistic, and I saw how closely emotions and behavior can be connected. I noticed that once my clients identified their emotions, behavior change became possible.

Beginning counseling can feel intimidating. My goal is that each client would feel safe, seen, and cared for in each session. Healing is not always linear, and I want my clients to feel secure through the ebbs and flows of the process. My faith in Christ grounds me in the hope that healing and restoration are possible, and I am honored to integrate faith into counseling when it is meaningful to my clients.

I believe that no person or relationship is ever “too far gone.” Healing and restoration are always possible when there is a willingness to show up, grow and move toward one another with love and grace. I believe in meeting my clients where they are, working at their pace, and setting tangible goals along the way to help them become who they want to be.

Outside the counseling room, I love spending time outdoors with my family, reading, and creating meaningful moments for others through my family event planning business. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you pursue healing, growth, and restoration.
